DEATH CALLS CLIFTON EARL HECK AFTER SHORT ILLNESS WITH PNEUMONIA

Earl Heck, aged 17 years, 7 months, 8 days, died at the home of his uncle, in Oil Center, California (present day Oildale), after an illness of one week. Earl left Meadows, Idaho, last October to spend the winter with his uncle, a wealthy man of Oil Center, and to attend school. He was the son of Frank Heck, who lives in Meadows, and he is survived by his father, mother, two brothers (Frank and Otto), and four sisters (Margaret, Nina, Alta and Grace). The latter arrived the day after her brothers' death, entirely unaware of his illness and passing.

On Friday morning, the 4th, Frank Heck received a telegram stating that his son had died that very morning. The message was a great shock as it came without prior warning, and not until yesterday did Mr. Heck receive a written letter of the 27th of June, telling him that Earl was down with pneumonia.

Earl's relatives took his remains to Selma, California, where beautiful and impressive services from the South Methodist Church were held; after which the relatives processed to the final resting place at the I.O.O.F. cemetery.

Earl was loved and respected by those who knew him, and his sudden passing is a source of regret and sincere sorrow to his many friends.
