Frank Heck, 82, a resident of Cottage Grove for 19 years, died at a Eugene hospital Monday. He was born Dec. 9, 1864, at Des Moines, Iowa, and married Mary Morgan Cheatham at Oswego, Kan., March 22, 1897. He moved to Cottage Grove from Bakersfield, Calif., and was a member of the Christian Church, Masonic Lodge and Royal Arch Chapter, all of Cottage Grove. He owned several businesses. Surviving are his widow and the following children: Mrs. Grace Karleskint, Boise, Margaret Heck, at home, Frank L. Heck, Klamath Falls, Mrs. Nina Smith, Ventura, Calif., Mrs. Alta Pierson, Compton, Calif., Mrs. Gladys Adams, Cottage Grove, Mrs. Augusta Beck, Cottage Grove; 12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Edward P Heck, Ventura, and a sister, Mrs. Minnie Holding, Kansas City, Mo. Services will be held Wednesday at 2:30 pm at Mills Mortuary in Cottage Grove, with the Rev. J M Shelley officiating. Interment will be in the IOOF-Masonic Cemetery, with members of the Masonic Lodge officiating.
