Clinton Daily Democrat, Aug 21 2000 - Nancy Irene Snelling Nichols was born September 11, 1942, in Kansas City, daughter of William Vaughn and Ursula B. Galloway Snelling. She died August 12, 2000, at St. Luke's Medical Center in Kansas City. She married Hershel Nichols on May 22, 1959. She lived in the Clinton area most of her life. She presently was working as a care provider for many families in the Clinton area. She enjoyed helping people. She was also very active in her garden and flower garden and loved spending time with her friends, family, especially her grandchildren, Carley, Kierstin, Bryant, Tara and Lukas. Her father, William Vaughn Snelling, preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Ursula Snelling, Nixa; husband, Hershel, of the home; two sons, Robert Duane Nichols and Daniel Glen Nichols and wife, Nickkie, all of Clinton; one daughter, Vickie Diane Jack and husband, T. J., Cedar Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren, Carley Marie Nichols, Kierstin D. Nichols, Bryant McCartney, Tara Nicole Nichols and Lukas Robert Jack; one brother, Vaughn Snelling and wife Thelma, Clinton; one sister, Gladys Parmalee and husband Joe, Osceola. Funeral services were held August 16 at the Consalus Chapel, Clinton. Burial was in Clinton Memory Gardens.
