Robert "Duane" Nichols, age 51 of Leeton, MO, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at his home. Duane was born on April 17, 1962 to Hershel and Nancy "Snelling" Nichols of Clinton. He graduated from Clinton High School and went to work as a painter in the fiberglass repair industry. Next to his family, Duane's greatest love was making music with the County Liner Band. Survivors include two daughters, Carley and Kierstin Nichols, both of Clinton, MO; one sister, Diane Jack (T.J.) of Cedar Rapids, IA; one brother, Danny Nichols of Clinton, MO; a girlfriend, Linda Shubert of Leeton, MO; an ex-wife, Samantha VanBlaricon (Robert) of Clinton, MO; two nephews, Lukas and Tyler Jack; one niece, Tara Nichols; and a host of other family, friends and the past and present members of the County Liner Band and the Midnight Special Band. Preceding Duane in death, were his parents. The family will receive visitors at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Consalus Funeral Home, Clinton. A service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Following the service, he will be cremated and a private inurnment will follow at a later date. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Duane Nichols Memorial Fund and left in care of Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd St., Clinton, MO 64735.
