Greenville Daily Reflector ---Dan W. Braxton, 65, died at his home near Maury at 6:10 o'clock Wednesday morning after suffering a heart attack a few minutes earlier. Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at Grimsley Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. C. L. Patrick and Rev. L. B. Manning will officiate. Burial will be in Maury Cemetery. Mr. Braxton was born and spent his life in the Maury community. He was a member of Maury Methodist Church and was a farmer. Dan was a college graduate, store owner, census taker, and served as Maury Post Master. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Hagan Braxton; a son, Dan W. Braxton, Jr., of the home; seven daughters , Mrs. Johnny Calhoun of Greenville, Mrs. Clifton Jones of Ayden, Mrs. Harvey Bowen of Ormondsville, Mrs. Larry Willoughby of Ayden, Mrs. Manning Nobles of Winterville, Mrs. Horace Moore of Farmville, and Mrs. B. F. Carraway of Greenville; 15 grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Lillie F. Braxton of Maury; and two brothers, M. V. Braxton of Maury, and Ray Braxton of Creedmoor.
