MRS. ROGERS

Funeral services for Mrs. Ora "Toad" Rogers, a former Carlsbad resident, will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the West Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Davis of Victory Baptist Church officiating.

Mrs. Rogers, who was 68, died in Lovington on Wednesday. She had been residing there for the past five months.

Born in Madill, Okla., on Sept. 2, 1902, Mrs. Rogers moved to Texas a young girl. She moved to Carlsbad in 1917. She married Jess D. Rogers on Dec. 3, 1920, at Flomont, Tex., and the two moved back to Carlsbad in 1932 where they made their home until 1960.

A member of the Victory Baptist Church here, Mrs. Rogers was a housewife.

Pallbearers include Hubert Sample, Pat Mitchell, Alvin Creekmeer, Berton Whitmire, Jerry Rogers and June Nicholas.

Survivors are a son, J.D. Rogers of Carlsbad; a daughter, Mrs. Esta Hensly of Lovington; a brother, Wesley Hobbs, of Lovington; four sisters, Mrs. J.C. Davis and Mrs. E.L. Clark, both of Carlsbad, and Mrs. Bill Gueren of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. John Buck of Artesia. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
