MRS. ELSIE M. ACKERMANN
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Mrs. Elsie M. Ackermann, 78, of 1211 Lafayette St., who died at 7:25 p.m. Tuesday of cancer. Dr. C. H. Pettersen, pastor of Grace Methodist Church, will officiate, and burial will be at Reinbeck Cemetery.
Mrs. Ackermann was born Aug. 5, 1888, in Germany, the daughter of Wilhelm and Martha Schroeder Beyers. She came to this country in 1907 and was married to Henry Ackermann at Lincoln, Ia., on Jan. 25, 1908.
They lived in the Reinbeck area and farmed until 1928 when they moved to that town. Mr. Ackermann died in 1942 and she then made her home with a son, Erwin, of 1211 Lafayette St. Mrs. Ackermann was a member of the Grace Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Harry of Monticello, and Erwin of 1211 Lafayette St., and two twin daughters, Mrs. P. S. Custard, 215 E. 9th St., and Mrs. Mark Haynes, of Los Angeles, Calif.
There are also three brothers, John, Hans, and Irwin Beyers, of Germany; one sister, Mrs. Richard Boyce, of Clinton; 12 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1942, one brother, one sister, and one grandchild.
