Salem News obituary: East Palestine: Eva M. (Shearer) Widowfiels, 84, formerly of 375 E. Grant St., died Monday evening at the Glen Ellen Senior Suites, where she had beeen a patient for the past year.

Born October 20, 1925, in East Palestine, the daughter of John W. and Annie L. Hayes Shearer.

She had been employed for several years at W.S. George Pottery and Royal China, and retired from Salem Community Hospital after 16 years. She was a member of the Church of God of New Springfield.

She was preceded in death on April 2, 2006, by her husband, Jack, whom she married on April 10, 1948.

Survivors include a daughter, Joyce A. (Edwin) Miller of Weymouth, Mass.; two sons, Michael J. (Frances) of Lowellville and Timothy A. (Barbara) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a brother, John W. Shearer of East Palestine; two grandsons, and tree great-grandsons.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Oliver- Linsley funeral Home (www.oliver-linsley.com) with the Rev. Christopher Kuzma officiating. Burial will follow in Glenview Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
