Born in Iowa, but moved as a young boy along with his family to SD. Here he attended school. He marries Jessie Hovey on Dec. 18, 1919, in Minnesota. They have 3 kids together, two of whom live to maturity. Mark works for Western Electric and the telephone company in South Dakota and also in Iowa. Mark and family live in Minneapolis for some years before Mark contracts tuberculosis. He spends some time at a sanatorium on Lake Minnetonka, but eventually moves to the dryer climate of Arizona for his health. He and Jesse live near Phoenix for decades before his death in 1978 at age 81.

Memorial services for Marcus A. Hubbard, 81, who came to Phoenix in 1945 and retired as a real estate salesman in 1964, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in First Christian Church, 6750 N. Seventh Ave.
Mr. Hubbard, of Black Canyon City, died Dec. 9, 1978, in Valley View Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Jesse; children, Anstis Ring and Richard; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers.
