Mrs. Caroline Albrecht nee Gruber was born January 15, 1865, at Neuhaus, Germany. In 1867, she came with her parents, who settled at Mendota, Ill. In 1872, they came to Kansas and made their residence in the Lyons Creek vicinity. On September 11, 1887, she was confirmed by the sainted pastor, C. H. Lueker. November 25, 1886, she was united in marriage to Gustav Albrecht. Last summer she suffered a stroke which confined her to bed for some time. However, she recovered partially until about a month or six weeks ago, when she became afflicted with a severe cold. Again she became bedfast. Last Sunday, two successive strokes rendered her unconscious and finally death ensued on Tuesday morning at 3:30. Those who mourn her departure are her children: William Albrecht, Louis Albrecht, John Albrecht, all of Herington; Rudolph Albrecht of Lincolnville; Albert R. Albrecht of Latimer; Mrs. August Krause of Topeka, and Reinhard of the home. Her husband, one sister and three children preceded her in death. Services were held March 11 at the St. John's Lutheran church at Lyons Creek with Rev. George Klattenhoff officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Puryear Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Brighten all our heavenward way
With an ever holier ray
Til we pass to perfect day:
Hear us Holy Jesus.
