Mary Allen, 83, Cadiz, died at 6:25 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Shady Lawn Nursing Center of natural causes.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Frank Kirby officiating. Burial will be in House Cemetery, Trigg County. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Thursday.
A native of Stewart County Tenn., she was born July 20, 1916, the daughter of the late Edward and Florence Wallace Askew. She was a homemaker. Her husband, John Taylor Allen, died in 1973. Two sons, John Curtis and Thomas Allen, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include four sons, Bobby Askew Allen, Barberton, Ohio; Wayne Allen, Linton; Robert and Donny Allen, both of Cadiz; four daughters, Mrs. Jesse (Gracie) Lewis, Cumberland Furnace, Tenn., Mrs. Jerry (Sue) Faris, Jaunita Cook and Lucy Hart, all of Cadiz; two brothers, Dick and Hershel Askew, both of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Minnie Boren, Cadiz; Louise Mason, Akron, Ohio; 40 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
