Miss Phoebe Tikalsky, 23, of Verdigre, passed away at a Sioux City hospital, Saturday, June 6. In company with her mother, she was enroute to Rochester, Minn. for medical attention. Her condition became so grave, she was taken from the train at Sioux City and removed to a hospital. She died shortly thereafter.

Funeral services were held at Verdigre, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Burl Tappana, pastor of the Methodist Church here and Joseph Broz of Verdigre, were in charge of the rites, which were held at the ZCBJ Hall.

Surviving relatives are her mother, Mrs. Marie Tikalsky and one brother, Earl. Her father preceded her in death six years ago.

The deceased had a large acquaintance here. She was a Creighton High graduate. With her parents, she resided on the Caley farm north of town for several years. She was one of Knox county's excellent teachers and had been engaged in that profession the past five years, part of which was in Holt county.
