Paul Amos Bolinger, 71, of Oskaloosa, Kansas died Wednesday, October 1, 1997 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, KS.
He was born May 29, 1926 at Whorton Creek, Arkansas the son of Sherman O. and Louisa E. Reeves Bolinger. His mother died when he was four years old and he was raised by his father and step-mother, Sherman and Elva Hearron Bolinger. He had lived in Oskaloosa since 1989 moving there from Boyle Community near Valley Falls, KS and lived in Jefferson County since 1944.
He was a farmer and stockman in Jefferson County for many years and worked as a welder for the C. G. F. Grain Co. in Oklahoma for several years, retiring in 1975.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, of the home, Betty Arlene Everett to whom he was married Aug. 2, 1945 in Huntsville. He is also survived by two sons: Kenneth Robbie "Rob" Bolinger of Huntsville and Paul Keith Bolinger of Oskaloosa; a daughter, Shirley Paulette Stout of Oskaloosa; one sister, Mary Lou Mitchell Roberts of Rogers, AR, eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Virgil Bolinger and one sister, Ruth Carlock.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Calvary Baptist Church in Valley Falls, KS. Burial was in the Winchester-Wise Cemetery in Winchester, KS. Memorials may be made to the Kansas Arthritis Foundation in care of the Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, KS.
