Mortally wounded at the Battle of Shiloh leading a charge of Terry's Rangers (Texas 8th Calvery). Was a brother of Benjamin Franklin Terry who organized the Rangers and was killed in battle in KY. Brother to David Terry who was a CA Supreme Count Judge. A Descendant of Col Nathaniel Terry and Col Benjamin Terry of Virginia and served in the Revolutionary War with Gen George Washington.
His brother, Col. Benjamin F. Terry, was born in 1821. Clinton was living with him on the day that the 1850 Census information was collected, 21 Oct 1850. Clinton was 20 at the time.
