Wesley L. "Wheels" Coin, 80, passed away Monday, Aug. 1, 2005, at the Medical Center of Independence.

Wesley was born April 29, 1925, in Milan, Mo., the son of Sherman and Daisy (Yardley) Coin. He married Colleen (Shultz) Coin on April 23, 1950, in Kirksville, Mo. He farmed in northern Missouri until 1960, then moved to Independence. He retired from the basement construction business in 1985. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Bucky Coin, and two brothers, Joe and Bill Coin.

Wheels was a gentle and kind man. Always a smile and laughed easily. We will miss playing cards and spending Sundays with him. We will miss his tomatoes and other garden goodies. His son and sons-in-law will miss going fishing. "Forever in our heart, always on our minds."

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, at Blue Springs Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Webb-Freer Funeral Home, Blue Springs, (816) 229-2101. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

The Examiner (Independence - Blue Springs - Grain Valley, MO), Tuesday, August 2, 2005
