Rev. Floyd Lawson, 84, of Wesley, died Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Fayetteville.

He was born Sept. 27, 1921 at Elkins, the son of Elliott Arden and Belva Pearl Dunaway Lawson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elda Mae Kirksey Lawson, on Jan. 6, 1990; two sisters, Murtha Jones and Mildred Ray and a brother, Flavis Lawson.

He was a retired employee of Elkhart Products Corporation and was a United States Army veteran of WWII and was awarded two Bronze Stars. He was a member of Richland Regular Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a Mason.

He is survived by his wife, Madge Johnson Lawson; two daughters, Karen Atha and husband Tommy of Elkins; Debbie Parks and husband Jay of Vicksburg, Miss.; three step-daughters. Sherry McFee and Wanda Bowen, both of Wesley; two step-sons, Windell Johnson of Baldwin and Neal Johnson of Springdale; three sisters, Murrel Alderson of Fayetteville, Marthel Hensley of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Marjorie Hill of Elkins; six grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

Services were held June 29, 2006, at Richland Regular Baptist Church with Elder Eddie Samuels and Rev. Johnny Sisemore officiating. Burial was at the Mount Olive Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
