MRS. EFFIE M. EVERETT

Upper Sandusky native, Mrs. Effie M. Everett of 801 South Orange St., Sturgis, Mich., died at 10:40 a.m. Friday in Sturgis Hospital, she was 88.

Born Aug. 20, 1886, she was a daughter of August and Emmaline (Von Blon) Courtad. She married William Payne who died in 1948, later to Barney Everett, who is also deceased.

Surviving are sons Paul Payne, Lima; Harvey Payne, Sturgis, Mich., and Robert Payne, of Three Rivers, Mich; sisters Mrs. John Swinehart; Mrs. Curtis Brown and Mrs. Lewis Hetzel, all of Upper Sandusky and Mrs. Arthur Burks, of Shelby; brothers Adrian and Claude Courtad of Upper Sandusky. One son, one brother and one sister are deceased.

Mrs. Everett was a member of Holy Angels Church of Sturgis, Mich. Last rites will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Peter's Catholic Church, Upper Sandusky. The Rev. Michael Ricker will officiate. Burial will be in Old Mission Cemetery.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bringman and Co. Funeral Home where a wake service will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday.
