Graydene Deese Berry, 59, passed away January 16, 2011 at her residence. Visitation will be 6pm-8pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Services will be 11am Thursday, January 20, 2011, at Stringer Family Chapel with burial in Georgetown Cemetery. Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Berry was born in Oklahoma. She attended college in Oklahoma and Louisiana. While in college she worked for the Tamy Company and later worked in the insurance business.

In 1984 she moved to Morgan City, LA and began her career as an Oil Drilling Analyst with Texaco and later with Chevron. She worked for Chevron until retiring in 2007. During her 22 years tenure with Texaco and Chevron, she and her husband, Mike, lived in Morgan City, LA, Houston, TX, and Ft. Worth, TX.

After her husband's retirement in 2009, they moved to Destin, FL to make their home.

She is survived by husband, Mike D. Berry; mother Maggie Mae Williams of Tulsa, OK; sons, Garner Berry and Turner Berry both of Hazlehurst; sister, Kay Johnson of Sarasota, FL; grandchild, Charlie Berry; two nieces and one nephew.
