At the age of twelve, he was baptized by his father, into Shady Grove Baptist church where he served untiringly, unselfishly as a member, superintendent of the Sunday School and chairman of the Deacon Board. He received his educational training at Leland College Labatory School. He was a member of Twilight Lodge No. 166 where he had served as Worshipful master.
He married to the former Miss Ardelia Sanford. To this union, three children were born.
Bro. Clark departed this life on Wednesday, April 27 at Tulane Medical Hospital, new Orleans, La.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ardelia Sanford Clark; one son, Wayne Clark; two daughters, Mrs. Diane Marie Walker and Mrs. Fannelle K. Matthews; his mother, Mrs. Lottie Clark; four sisters, Mrs. Lillian Nettles, Mrs. Hazel Bell, Mrs. Gladys Davis and Mrs. Ollie Chase; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Fannie D. Sanford; one granddaughter, Dion Marie Walker; two sons-in-law, Jack Walker and Irving James Matthews; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Mada McDonald Clark; aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John Clark; three brothers, Leroy, Emile, and John Henry Clark.
