" Elias Beck, a well known farmer residing at Red Run, in Brecknock township died on Friday last aged 76 years and 14 days. The deceased had been suffering for a long time past with dropsy which resulted in his death. The deceased is survived by his aged widow, and the following children: Susanna, wife of James Fry, residing on the on the homestead farm: John of Altoona; George, of Lancaster ; Michael of Denver; Daniel of Hahnstown; Israel, of Gordonville; and William, of Frysville. The funeral took place on Tuesday morning with services in the Bergstrasse cemetery and interment in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. B.G. Welder, officiated. The funeral was largely attended."
