Birmingham News (AL) - Sunday, January 10, 1999

BUCK, MRS. MURRAY S.(Thelma Black), age 95. Born in Harpersville, AL on May 8, l903, to Jerusha and James Black, died in Newnan, GA on January 8, l999. Preceded in death by her husband, Murray S. Buck, and survived by her daughter, Marcia Gayle Buck Cole; son-in-law, Lloyd Denton Cole, Jr.; and sister, Sammie Nivens of Huntsville, Ala. Thelma was a life long Methodist and spent the majority of her life in Chelsea and Columbiana, AL. She was a very special lady to all who knew her and will be greatly missed by her family. Thelma had 3 grandchildren, Janet Cole Daulton, Suzanne Cole Boyle and Jon Buck Cole, and 7 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 10, at 1:30 p.m. at Crumly Chapel, 336 Crumly Chapel Road, Birmingham, AL. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to The Perpetual Care Fund at Crumly Chapel in Thelma's name. Spry Funeral Home, Huntsville, 256-536-6654 directing.
