Mrs. Martha Culbertson, Trenton, former Mercer County resident, died July 22, in a Trenton hospital. Funeral services were held in Trenton. Burial was at Allerton, Ia.
Mrs. Culbertson, a daughter of James and Dortha Heriford, was born May 19, 1885, in Princeton. She was married in 1905 to Ira Thomas who died in 1922. They lived in Mercer County until 1911 when they moved to Wayne County, Ia.
Their surviving children are Mrs. Cortha Crase, Winterset, Ia., Walter Thomas, Allerton, Ia., and Clarence Thomas, Trenton.
On Oct. 18, 1930 she was married to John Culbertson who died Jan. 19, 1954.
The couple moved to Grundy County in 1939. Mrs. Culbertson was a member of the Baptist church.
Besides her children other survivors include one brother, Isaac Heriford, Meadville; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Constable, Pollock; one half-sister, Mrs. Jessie Covey, Cleveland; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Edna Long of Ames, Mrs. Maxine Sutton of LeRoy, Mrs. Elsie Crozier of Leon; a stepson, Clarence Lee Cubertson of Osceola; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
