Agnes E. "Nessie" Shellito, nee Tauchert, age 88, of Belleville, IL, born February 7, 1922, in Lebanon, IL, died on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, IL.

Agnes worked in the Downtown St. Louis Garment District for over 40 years retiring from Intuition Sportswear. She was a member of UNITE – International Ladies Garment Workers. Agnes was a member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Belleville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her two sons, Ralph W. "Wally" Shellito and William D. "Danny" Shellito; a great granddaughter, DeAnne Duchnowski; her parents, Walter and Belle, nee Calbreath, Tauchert; five brothers, Robert E. Tauchert, Walter R. Tauchert, Gilbert R. Tauchert, Paul A. Tauchert and Joseph H. Tauchert; and her sister, Aliene M. Cruikshank.

She is survived by her children, Gene (Linda) Shellito of Fairview Heights, IL and Susan (Carl) Hall of O'Fallon, IL; her grandchildren, Tony Shellito of Collinsville, IL, Kristy Duchnowski of O'Fallon, IL, Trisha (Rodney) Lambird of Germantown, IL, Venedy Neal of Denver, CO, Amanda (David) Henningfeld of Florissant, MO and Kenny Tobin of Collinsville, IL; six great grandchildren; a sister, Marcella Wodochek of Belleville, IL; three sisters-in-law, Lorrain Tauchert, Flora Tauchert and Rosella Lyle; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Memorial Hospitals First Floor Center.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois or to St. Clair Memorial Park Cemetery Association.

Visitation: Friends may call from 3:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, IL.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Kassly Mortuary Chapel, Fairview Heights, IL with Pastor Jack Kurrelmeyer officiating. Interment will be in St. Clair Memorial Park, Fairview Heights, IL.
