Union Army, Jul,Aug,Sep, 1864.

S. G. Dorsey Plantation.

This Civil War marker was placed at the edge of the burial grounds. Kilpatrick and McCook were the two Union leaders who led the assault of the battle of Lovejoy's Station. According to family history, there is a Union soldier buried in the grave marked by the box-type structure underneath the cedar
tree. He died of wounds while he was there, and was buried in the unmarked grave. This family story was emailed to me by the wife by the wife of a descendant of the Dorsey family.
