Bernice Smart, 81, of Nampa died Saturday, Nov. 25, 1989, at a Nampa nursing home.
Mrs. Smart was born Feb. 3, 1908, in American Fork, Utah, to Arthur and Melvina Rowley Dickerson. She was reared and educated in Salt Lake City. She worked as a office worker for a short time before moving to California in the late 1920s. While in California she worked as a presser in a cleaning business. She married Forrey Smart in Las Vegas, Nev., July 25, 1970. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple on Jan. 18, 1978. They moved to Nampa in 1973. Mr. Smart died Dec. 29, 1988.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Brenneman of Nampa and Barbara Gordet of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; two sisters, Edna Smart and Norma Muench, both of Nampa; two brothers, Ronald Dickerson of Santa Maria, Calif., and Delbert Dickerson of Seal Beach, Calif.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
