Richard as he liked to be called 65, died at his home in Dawsonville, Georgia. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Tyler Cash and two children. He came to Thornwell from Carrollton, Georgia in 1952 at age 7 with sister Linda Jane and brother Dean Knight (Harvey), who is also deceased. He graduated from Thornwell High School in 1963 and attended Presbyterian College. He served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam and the Mediterranean.
Richard was an outdoorsman and a hunter. Many remember his kindness to alumni who were having physical or family difficulties.
