Rites for the late John E. Surfus will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Cedar Chapel, with burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Surfus died Friday morning at 11 o'clock at the home of a son, Wayne, near Huntertown from complications. He was 80 years of age and lived near Huntertown all his life excepting for seven years while he was located a mile west of Auburn. He was the last of a family of eleven.
Surviving besides the son are the widow. Mrs. Martha Surfus, a sister, Mrs. Julia Murphy of Fort Wayne, and two grandsons, Richard and Don Surfus.
Mr. Surfus was a member of the Cedar Chapel congregation.
