Beto was the second born of Manuel and Elvira Alaniz. He was a sheet medalist at the naval base in Corpus Christi and Beeville. He also was an auto mechanic as a young man when he partnered with my father, his brother, Raul Alaniz. He soon left the partnership and worked at the naval base.

He was the widower of Zulema Marroquin de Alaniz and father of Manuel, Omiro, Romeo, Arnoldo, Alberto, Alfonso, Rolando and Elvira Alaniz.
