Carrie M. Bayouth, 68 of Hominy, passed away January 14, 2009 in Tulsa. She was born August 15, 1940 in Ft. Smith, Arkansas to Howard Jr. and Letha (Patterson) Moody. She graduated from Collinsville High School. Carrie married Tex on December 18, 1957 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. They lived in Cushing from 1961-1966. Together they owned and operated the Bayouth Department Store. In 1979 she became an insurance agent, and later started Carrie Bayouth Realty. Carrie was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hominy. She was a Sunday school superintendent and taught Sunday school. She was on the Board of Trustees at the United Methodist Church and past president of the P.E.O. sisterhood, and past president of the Hominy Hospital Auxiliary, worked with the local election board, was on the board of directors of the Hominy Chamber of Commerce, and worked at the food bank.

Carrie is survived by her husband Ralph Tex of the home, three daughters- Debbie Favell and husband John of Tulsa, Dana Hull and husband Russell of Hominy, and Danelle Higgins and husband Larry, west of Hominy. Five grandchildren- Christopher Chance Bayouth DeLong, Courtney Lynne DeLong, Carrie Blake Higgins, Chelsea Leigh Higgins, and Cassidy Raye Higgins. One brother Jerry Moody and wife Barbara of Gladstone, Missouri, one sister Sue Austin and husband Danny of Collinsville. An aunt Lou Graham and husband Niles of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial service was Monday, January 19, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Hominy with Rev. Connie Taylor and Coy Everett officiating the service. Honorary Pall Bearers were David Butler, Gerald Christy, Tom Points, J.D. Savage, Charlie Arnold, Coy Everett, Jessie Hudson, Butch Savage, John Wade Pettit and Bill Walls.

Interment in the A.J. Powell Cemetery was under the direction of Powell Funeral Home, Hominy.
