"Mr. Ash was born in Alturas and had resided for many years in Chico where he owned and managed a refrigerator and heating business.
"In 1957, he and his wife, Alta, moved to Sacramento where he had been employed at the McClellan Air Force Base as a refrigerator and heating engineer.
"In addition to his widow, Mr. Ash is survived by two stepsons, Robert J. McGuire of Sacramento and Capt. Melvin R. McGuire of Topeka, Kansa; two daughters, Mrs. Janice Banchi, and Mrs. Carol Wycoff of Napa; six grandchildren, two brothers, Whewell of Reno and Arthur of Alturas, and a nephew, Gordon Nash of Chico.
"Recitation of the rosary will be conducted in the chapel of the Brusie Funeral Home tomorrow at 8 p.m. At 9:10 a.m. Friday morning the cortege will proceed to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where requiem mass will be offered at 9:30 a.m. Interment will take place in the Catholic Section of the Chico Cemetery."
