Mrs. Nadine Woodlief Bradley, 89, of Mount Airy, passed away Monday morning, January 10, 2011, at Brookridge Baptist Retirement Home in Winston-Salem. Mrs. Bradley was born March 13, 1921, in Wake Forest, to the late Aubrey and Sarah Alena Powell Woodlief. Mrs. Bradley was a devoted wife to the late Rev. Robert Oren Bradley for almost 50 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mount Airy, where she taught Sunday school. She taught mission studies and served as clerk of the Surry Baptist Association. She was on the boards of the North Carolina Baptist WMU and the North Carolina Baptist Foundation. She was a licensed real estate agent for H H Webb Realty and she worked for Hiatt TV. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Knott Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert H. and Rhonda Bradley of Mount Airy; grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah Knott and her special friend, Kevin Hoffman, John and Emily Bradley, Lisa and Kemp Phillips, Mary Beth and Andy Overby, Kristin and Johnny Branch, Taylor and Sarah Bradley, and Loren and Brandon Belk; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clina Wheeler of Durham, and Lavoy Adams and Joyce Tilley, both of Raleigh; and three sisters-in-law, Evelyn Moose of Lowgap, Lib Garmon of Virginia Beach, VA, and Besie Woodlief of Wake Forest. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Bradley was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Patricia Eloise Bradley; a son-in-law, Wayne Knott; three sisters, Selene Wright, Hortence Gibson, and Ione King; five brothers, Bervin, Maynard, Flemming, Woodrow, and Aubrey Woodlief, Jr. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Milton Sewell and the Rev. Rusty Reed officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at Moody Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 12, 2011, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering, c/o First Baptist Church, 714 North Main Street, Mount Airy, NC 27030. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Brookridge Baptist Retirement Community and a special thanks to Gladys and Candace, who gave her wonderful care during her stay.
