Franklin S. Bound, (son of Thomas & Charlotte Bound) having completed the journey of life on earth, passed to his God on the morning of October 20, 1911. He was born March 18, 1839 at Conklin, Broome County NY. In 1854 he came with is parents to Plainfield WI and there spent the remainder of his life, except while serving his country in the Civil War as a private in CO1, 1st Regiment, Wisconsin Volunteers H.A. After being honorably discharged from the Army, he returned home and again took up the occupation of Farming which he followed while strength permitted. He was married October 1, 1863 to Mary Loueza Cunningham. To them were born 9 children, 4 of whom died in infancy. The others, with there mother, his twin sister, 13 grandchildren and numerous other relatives survive and morn. Mr Bound's health had been failing for some time, but no one thought the end was so near. Neuralgia of the heart caused him to die suddenly. Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday and were largely attended. Those present from a distance were: Mr & Mrs. Alex Empey, of Merrill; Delbert Empey, of Milladore; Mrs. E Nuff and son of Green Bay and Mrs Joseph Shove of Waukau. Rev L.B. Colman, pastor of the M E Church of which the deceased was a member, conducted the service after which the remains of this brave soldier, faithful husband, kind father, and good neighbor were laid to rest in the Plainfield Cemetery. "How blest the righteous when he dies! When sinks a weary soul to rest"
