George W, Evers services today
George W. Evers, 90, died Monday in a St Charles rest home.
The Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today at the Stevinson Funeral Home chapel, St Elizabeth. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. H. J. Figge at 10 a.m. Thursday in the St Lawrence Catholic Church, St Elizabeth. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mr. Evers had operated flour and grain mill in St Elizabeth for a number of years. He was a member of the St Lawrence Catholic Church and the St Joseph Society. He was born March 2, 1877, in Miller County, the son of Frank H. and Anna Bax Evers. He was married Jan. 2, 1900, to the
former Elizabeth Boeckmann. She died in April 1949. Survivors include; seven sons, Martin EversSt Elizabeth, Fred and August Evers, both of St Louis, Adolph Evers, Valley Park, Clem Evers, St Petersburg, Fla., William Evers, Florissant, and Cornie Evers, of Schrewsbury. Two daughters, Mrs Emma Nestein, University City and Mrs. Christine La Richo, Creve Coeur, Two sisters, Mrs. Olivia Ortbals, Philadelphia, Pa., and Mrs. Anna Cuno Rolla; 47 grandchildren adn 60 great-grandchildren.
