Williams Dies in California
Thomas G. Williams, 68, of Palo Alto, Ca., died May 4. His ashes were buried at sea. He served in World War II in the USMC Headquarters Co.,3rd Battalion, 8th Marines, 2nd Marine Division in Tarawa, Saipan and Tinian. He joined with George R. Stowe in 1943. He and George R. Stowe each received a Purple Heart and were twice awarded the Presidential Unit Citation.
Formerly of Olney, he made his home in California after the War.
Survivors include his wife Elfreda of Palo Alto, Ca.; two sons, Tommy Williams and Joe Williams, both of San Francisco, Ca.; three brothers, Jeff(J.B.) Williams of Wichita Falls, Joe(Joel S.) Williams of Arkansas, and Don Williams of Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Harrite(Sp) Cooper, Mrs Larraine(sp) Hromas and Mrs. Ollie Bonnin, all of Olney.
