Ivy C. Meeks died Monday, January 10, 2011.

Ivy was born in Zion, IL, March 25, 1923 to Walter and Pearl Whipple Chrismas.

She was a pharmacists' assistant for several years in Zion and later in Wilmington, NC, but her primary role was that of mother. She was also a daughter, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, friend and a child of God.

In addition to her parents, Ivy was preceded in death by her first husband, Harland Swager; brothers, Elliott, Charles, Roy, George, and Art Chrismas; sisters, Ida Chrismas Burnette and Nell Chrismas Lilly; infant grandson, Jonathan Swager; daughter-in-law, Patricia Swager; and son-in-law, Harvey Frye.

She is survived by her children, Gail Swager Frye; Ronald (Mary Ann) Swager; and Tracy Swager, brother, John (Marilynn) Chrismas; granddaughter, Sheryl (Stephen) Brack and great grandsons, Christian, Payton, and Nathan Brack; a grandbird and two granddogs.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 13, Wendell United Methodist Church. Burial to follow in Greenmount Cemetery.
