John A McBride was born the son of John Aaron McBride and his wife Elizabeth "Eliza" Boyle in Hamilton, Ont. Canada. About 1855 the family moved to Simcoe, where John married Sophia Naomi Collins on 31 of May 1875. They were the parents of 3 children. Edith Anna, who married Archie Elias Culver, John Edmund, who married Ethel Nella Terrill in Michigan and Ethel Eliza McBride who died in 1909. The family moved to Mason, Michigan about 1900. In 1907 his wife Sophia died then in 1909 he lost his youngest daughter Ethel Eliza. He died in Lasing Michigan in 1912. His body was taken back to Simcoe and buried with his wife and daughter.
