He was born June 18, 1924, at Poplar Bluff, Mo., to Charles and Frances Bescheinen Humphries.

He married Marjorie Murray Gerst Sept. 24, 1966 at Stronghurst, Illinois.

Mr. Humphries worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant.

Surviving: his wife, Marjorie, New London; his mother, Frances, Poplar Bluff;
two brothers, Junior,St. Louis, and Franklin, Buena,Wash;
five sisters, Vada McGown, Cardin, Okla., Delores Ryals, South Lake, Texas, Clara Mae Humphrey, Shirley Birdsong, and Betty Langford, all of Poplar Bluff;
four stepchildren,
Marian Gerst, Burlington, Karen Humphrey, West Point, Lynette Gerst, West Point, and Janice Hutchinson, New London;
and four grandchildren.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Monday, Elliott Chapel, New London, the Rev. Rod Cooper; Forest Home Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Iowa.
