Lincoln County farmer dies in tractor accident WAYNESBURG

Services for James Matthew Bastin, 76, of Eubank, will be 11 a.m. Friday at Barnett & Demrow Funeral Home by Rev. John Silvers.

Burial will be in Double Springs Cemetery.

He died Tuesday at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, Lexington, following a farm accident at a Lincoln County farm. Bastin apparently fell off a tractor while changing gears.

Born Nov. 1 1922, in Lincoln County, he was the son of the late Roy and Farbie R. Bastin.

He was a businessman and member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Waynesburg. He was a member of the Ruritan Club in Eubank and the founder of the Waynesburg Area Rescue Squad and the Eubank Fire Department. He was an avid hunter.

Survivors include his wife, Violet P. Bastin; three sons. Glen R. Bastin of Louisville, Russell M. Bastin of Somerset, and Mark A. Bastin of Somerset; three sisters, Dessie Caudill, Deltie Tackett and Mollie Wall, all of Eubank; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James D. Bastin. Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. today. Memorials can go to the Church of God Prophecy Building Fund
