My Mother Vera Fondren Ward, 101, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011.
She was born on Nov.23 1909 on Sand Mountain in Jackson County,AL the 11th child of the 13 children of Rev.William White Fondren & Sarah Sallie Bell Davis.Her father moved the family to Winston County sometime between 1920-25.She married first Wallace Weaver & had 1 child with him(Kermit Eugene Weaver)divorce 1928,next she had one daughter (Doris Jean) with Alfred Lamar Harris Sr in 1930, Next she married Roy Sylvester Kelly 1935 & had 2 children with him(Betty Sue 1939 & Bobbie Lue 1936) divorce 1940,next Henry Martin McCrary & had 2 children with him(Donald Martin Feb.1942 & Johnnie Q feb.1944) before his death 23-Dec-1943.She then married Marlin R. Ward in 1950.They never had any children.She was a loving and wonderful Mother & person.
