OAKDALE - Margaret F. LaVigne, 80, passed away at L&M Hospital in New London on Tuesday.
She was born in San Diego, CA on June 5, 1930 to the late Burill F. and Vivian (Brown) Fielding. Later she completed school and married her husband, Alfred J. LaVigne who predeceased her.
Margaret worked throughout her life at various jobs, but none more important then being a wife, mom, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to so many. She lived for family gatherings as often as she could get everyone together but none was more important to her then Christmas which had to be at her house every year. Additionally, she was a retired member of the Mohegan Tribe Council of Elders.
She is survived by her children; Michael, Bill, Bruce, Mark, Laura and Glenn, sister; Loretta, sixteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and countless friends, all of whom she treated as though they were family.
She was predeceased by her husband Alfred, children; John, Ronald and Gail, and sisters; Marie, Beryl and Meryl.
A Graveside Service will be held Thursday at 10am at the Fort Shantok Burial Ground in Uncasville, CT. At Margaret's request, there will be no calling hours or funeral home service.
