Mr. Bauknecht who was engaged in farming, was about to grasp a rope on the rear of a wagon at his farm Wednesday afternoon, when the rope broke, causing him to fall forcibly to the ground. He sustained a fractured collar bone. Two sons and two daughters survive.
The body was brought to the Mellott-Grafton parlors' here to be prepared for burial. the funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock

Fred Bauknecht, 74, a Standard Heights farmer, who fell from a load of hay Wednesday afternoon breaking his neck, died at the Martins Ferry hospital as the result of his injuries, yesterday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock.
Mr. Bauknecht was loading a hay wagon with hay and was tying it on with a rope while he was on top pulling the rope, it snapped, causing him to fall to the ground. He was rushed to the Martins Ferry hospital in an ambulance where an x-ray examination disclosed a fracture of the sixth vertebrae near the neck.
He was well known here, having been a farmer practically all his life, and is survived by many relatives in this section. His friends will be shocked to hear of his sudden death.
