Jacquelin Ann Shaul Archer, age 80, of Oak Ridge, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. She was born August 28, 1929 in Garden City, Kansas, the daughter of Mary E. Seely and Rollin Shaul.

Mrs. Archer loved music, painting, antiquing, playing bridge, her many animals and her family and friends. She graduated from Oklahoma College for Women with a Bachelors Degree in English and Teaching as well as Music. She was a member of Chi Delta Phi and Sigma Alpha Iota and sang in the Glee Club. Among her other accomplishments, she won the most beautiful teacher award for Oklahoma in 1957. She touched many young lives during her career.

As the wife of a career army officer, she lived in over twenty locations over their thirty-two years of service. As wife of the Commandant of the Military Police School and Chief of Military Police, she always worked to improve the quality of life of military police families. As First Lady of the United States military Entrance Processing Command with stations in 70 cities, she was known and loved by all. Mrs. Archer also worked as a volunteer for the American Red Cross for 11 years. She loved her wonderful Oak Ridge bridge group where she was a member for the past twenty years.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Caleb Jack Archer;
Two Daughters, Jill Archer Smith (Rem) and Jamie Archer Keenum (Rod);
One Son, Jack Peppered Archer (Melissa);
Granddaughter, Kelsey Smith;
Brother, Rollin Shaul and
Sister, Barbara McGuffin, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 10, 2010 from 6 – 8pm at Weatherford Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 8pm with Dr. Steve McDonald officiating. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 1:30pm at the Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Knoxville with John Ellis officiating.
