Mrs. Mary E. Shaul died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, at her home in Lawton.
She was born Jan. 2, 1906, in Larned, Kan., to Frank Keltz and Mary Anna (Munion) Seely. She graduated from high school and took classes to receive her teaching certificate. She taught school for three years. She married Rollin Everet Shaul on May 25, 1925, in Garden City, Kan. He died July 31, 1942. She lived in the Woodward area since 1925 and moved to Lawton in 1996. She was a member of Woodward First Christian Church for 61 years and a member of Lawton First Christian Church for eight years. She volunteered as a Gray Lady for the Red Cross.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Jackie and Jack Archer, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; and Barbara and Melvin McGuffin, Lawton; a son and daughter-in-law, Rollin and Jacqueline Shaul, Chambersburg, Pa.; a son-in-law, Leland Lewis, Iowa City, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Lyda Seely, Clinton, Mo.; a niece, Marguerite Bowser, Woodward; and many other friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Phyllis Lewis; two sisters: Edna Wakeman and Rita Olgilvey; and two brothers: Glen and Guy Seely.
Funeral for Mary E. Shaul, 98, Lawton, will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Woodward First Christian Church with the Rev. Wayne Ashlock, pastor, Lawton First Christian Church, officiating.
Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery, Woodward, under direction of Zwanziger Funeral Home, Woodward.
Local arrangements were by Becker Funeral Home.
