Shells AplentyEllis Andre, 80, is moving from his home two miles east of Mechanicsville and the thousands of sea shells in his collection are going to have to be boxed. The shells fill shelves in three rooms. Andre collected many of them in the winters of 1936-1941 when he drove a relative to Florida. He spent his spare time collecting shells on beaches in St. Petersburg, St. Augustine, Tampa and Key West. He also collects rocks and stamps. (Cedar Rapids Gazette, Cedar Rapids, IA, August 31, 1969)
