Johann (went by John) Georg (usually spelled George in later years) Spach was the 5th of 12 known children of Johann Adam Spach (1753-1816) and Catherina Tesch (became Tesh) (1759-1829), who married 23 Nov 1779 at Friedberg, Surry County (became Stokes County in 1789 and Forsyth County in 1849), North Carolina.
