Alberta E. "Bert" Eastman, age 78, formerly of Asbury Road, Lansing, NY died August 31, 2007 at the Groton Nursing Home, Groton, NY after a lengthy illness. Bert was born August 11, 1929 at Burlington, NY a daughter of the late Willard and Emma Southworth McLean. She was schooled in Edmeston, NY and worked in a glove factory prior to moving to Tompkins County where she worked at Ithaca Textiles, Cornell Dairy Bar and in the Alice Statler Inn. She loved her family, music, dance and horses. Bert was always busy helping others and will be missed by her loving family.

Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (Reggie) LeBlanc; sons, Jim (Tina) Eastman and Lynn (Becky) Eastman, Jr all of Lansing, NY; Betty Crockford of Enfield, Marjorie Snyder of North Carolina, Columbine O'Blak of Hartwick and Edna Ruland of Binghamton; grandchildren, Danielle, Derek, Darin, Dustin, Gary, Kurtis, Sean, Lynn, III and Amber; one great-granddaughter, Sadie Lynn. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Albeama Gabrosek; five other sisters; seven brothers and a granddaughter, Heather.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 at the Perkins Funeral Home with Rev. Alan Kinney officiating. Burial will follow in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden. Friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 PM Tuesday at the funeral home, 55 West Main St., Dryden. Memorials are directed to the Alzheimer's Association, 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
