Note - Irene, the name she was known by, was born at Dover, Pope County, Arkansas. Struggling to make a living Irene, her parents and siblings made annual trips into Oklahoma to help with fieldwork. On one such occasion, she met Clifford Lumpkin. Clifford was so taken with her he followed her back to Arkansas and married her there on April 24, 1930. Love needed no fancy wedding. Clifford and Irene drove over to the school and while sitting in the car, the teacher/preacher married them. Witness to this marriage were all the children from the school, as they surrounded the car during the ceremony. Clifford was employed at the High Land Garage just north of Minco on Highway 152. He lived in a tent inside the garage building. He brought his new bride back to Oklahoma and their first home.....a tent. Clifford Lumpkin was born in Hope, Oklahoma. Clifford died from lung cancer July 6, 1976 at Grady Memorial Hospital, Chickasha, Oklahoma.Irene died December 26, 1994 at Corn, Oklahoma. Irene was a victim of alheimerz's disease. Interment for both Irene and Clifford is at Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, Grady County, Ok.

Clyde Ventris (brother-in-law to Irene and Clifford) officiating.Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Minco, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home, Minco the daughter of Robert Guy Waldron and Della Vaughn Waldron. She died Monday, December 26,1994 in Corn Nursing Center, Corn. She married Clifford Martin Lumpkin on April 24, 1931 in Arkansas.She had lived in the community since 1931 and was a member of the Assembly of God Church, Minco, where she was also a member of the Women's Missionary Council.She was a homemaker.Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Wanell) Brown of Minco; three brothers, Clarence Waldron of Minco, Ed Waldron of Arkansas and Burl Waldron of Merlin, Ore.; three sisters, Vera Collins of Minco, Velma Myers of Alma, Ark., and Grace Lumpkin of Merlin, Ore.; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband.
Clifford; one son, Dwayne Lumpkin; one brother, Calvin Waldron; two sisters, Lola Martin and Sue Waldron.
"Pallbearers were Don Walker, O.B. Willmon, Jerry Shepperd, Joe McComas, Don Coy, and Bob Guthery.
