Ida Blair, daughter of Thomas and Rachel Elizabeth Blair, was born near Chapin, Ill., November 13, 1868 and passed away at Our Saviors hospital in Jacksonville, Wednesday night, September 11, 1935, at 8:25 o'clock.
On March 20, 1890, she was united in marriage with James W. Beddingfield of Chapin. To this union one daughter, Bessie Irene, wife of Irl Bowman of Hillview, was born. In early life Mrs. Beddingfield was converted and united with the Christian church at Chapin, 1880. She lived close to the Master throughout her life, and at the time of her death was teacher of the Amoma class of the Barrow Baptist church, where she and her husband had resided for a number of years.
Her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her husband and daughter, one grandson, Bernard Bowman, two brothers, Frank E. Blair of Chapin, and William Blair of Versailles, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was a member of the Royal Neighbor Lodge of Roodhouse.
Funeral services were held Saturday, September 14th, at 2:30 p.m., at the Christian church in Chapin in Charge of Rev. Ray Johnson, assisted by the minister of the Christian church, Rev. Reece Potter.
Music was furnished by Mr. F. W. Schultis, Mrs. Arthur Perbix, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Onken, with Ms. Schultis as pianist. The songs were "The Old Rugged Cross", "When They Ring Those Golden Bells for You and Me", and "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere."
Flowers were in charge of Mrs. James Doyle, Clarence Akers, John Vestel, John Prindle, Henry Day and Joe Young.
Interment was in Chapin cemetery.
