MONTPELIER Barbara Sharpe Zinkevicz, 57, former resident of Montpelier, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2001, at her home in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
She was born May 27, 1943, to Gwen Rich and Charles Tennyson Sharpe. She spent her youth enjoying the shores of Bear Lake.
On Dec. 28, 1962, Barbara wed Ted Zinkevicz in Montpelier, Idaho. Together they have resided in Cheyenne, Wyoming, for the last 37 years.
Barbara spent her entire life as an avid reader, and loved to shop. She was a devoted friend, and enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by people. Barbara spent many years cooking and entertaining for those whom she loved. Over the years, she was involved in several organizations, and her giving spirit touched many people. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She treasured her family, and her greatest joy was being a grandma.
Barbara is survived by her husband, Ted, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Michelle, of Ogden, Utah, and Melissa and Ryan Duve of Windsor, Colorado; two grandsons, Caden and Cameron Duve; her brother, John Sharpe, of West Point, Utah; and a sister-in-law, Sheila Sharpe of Montpelier. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gwen and Tenny, and a brother, Bryan Sharpe.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 26, at 1 p.m. in the Montpelier First Ward Chapel, located at 485 S. Seventh St. The family will greet friends at the church from noon until time of the service.
Interment will be in the Montpelier Cemetery, with services under the direction of Matthews Mortuary of Montpelier.
