Priscilla was born in Roxbury, Vermont the daughter of Robert & Ester (Pierce) Nichols. The youngest of 3 children, sister Ester (Nichols) Williams & brother Gad Pierce Nichols. She came to Suspension Bridge (now called Niagara Falls NY)in 1816 when it was still a wilderness. She married John Milton Buttery in 1835 & had 10 children, 3 died as infants. She was a School Teacher in the Lewiston NY area, became a farmers wife, helped with the family owned "World Famous Buttery Whirlpool Elevators" along the high bank of the Niagara River from 1856 untill her death. She became a highly praised business woman. Her father, Robert Nichols helped to build the 1st Presbyterian Church of Lewiston, having laid the corner stone just prior to his death. She leaves 7 children & 3 grandchildren. Was predeceased by her husband & 3 infant children.
